This week I started working part time at Purchase Effect, an international artisan market owned and run by a friend of mine here in Gainesville, GA.

These last two days, I’ve sold eleven items.

That’s sustainable income for ELEVEN artisans.

That’s eleven families impacted.

That’s three different ethnicities represented and empowered.

It got me thinking about the power of a penny.

Our U.S. dollar may not be worth what it once was, but it’s still got quite a bit of value in the global eye. When we launch new World Race squads, they say, “Yes,” to an entire year of living off of $5 for food and $5 for lodging per day. That means with the money I spend here in the U.S. on a coffee and a pastry from the local coffee shop, I can provide a missionary overseas with a bed to sleep in and three square meals.

That’s quite the perspective shift.

The mission work I’m doing now with Adventures in Missions is not as straightforward as the work these squads are doing each day; I am not feeding orphans, preaching in the streets, or teaching English in the slums like I once was (at least, not as often as I once was).

Nowadays, I’m “behind the curtain” so-to-speak. I’m using my time, money, spiritual gifts, and influence to equip and empower new generations of missionaries to spend a year of their lives reaching the unreachable and loving the culturally unlovable.

I’m not living off of $10 per day, but I’m fundraising $33 per day to make this work possible

Our pennies aren’t worth much, but put a few together and you’ll have a whole dollar. Put a few of those together and you’ll have enough to house and feed an international missionary. Put a few more together, and you’ll have enough to fund an entire month of apostolic ministry over a squad of World Race missionaries who are impacting the world for the sake of the Gospel.

(D Squad, launched January 2018 who I had the privilege of training this past October)

Here’s my point: we spend money every day.

Why not spend it on an item that will have an impact beyond ourselves?

For the next 40 days, I will be selling mugs and bracelets to fundraise for Adventures in Missions, the organization I’ve been working with on the World Race.

Each purchase of 2 mugs will fund one day of ministry.

That provides 63 missionaries with intentional leadership.

That provides 45 new missionaries with training before they launch in October.

Through the influence of the squads I am mentoring and training, that’s 33 countries impacted by the love of God.

And, for the next two weeks you can get FREE SHIPPING on orders of $50 or more.

Additional donations added to your total will count toward your free shipping qualification- so grab a mug and a bracelet for $45, add an additional $5 to round up and I’ll ship your items for free. Just use the special shipping code AMYSADVENTURE.

Let’s spend our money with intentionality and purpose.

Let’s make an impact beyond ourselves.
