Y’all wouldn’t believe me if I told you how many cups of hot chocolate I’ve had this month, and I’m embarrassed to tell you how many Hallmark Christmas movies I’ve seen!

I wouldn’t trade my Cambodian or Spanish Christmases for the world, but I sure am glad to have a Heitzman family Christmas this year; my first in three.

This month I finally unpacked the very last box in my bedroom and settled into my new home in Gainesville, GA. To say that moving was “easy” would be a lie, but to say that it was “good” would be a ridiculous understatement. These people are like fresh air for my soul!

(Jeremy is holding baby Jesse, the first of the baby Cearbaughs. Kat, his wife, is the lovely woman standing next to me in the photo and Ashley Francis is the beauty between them! These are my roommates, minus Chrissy who was a surprise upgrade to our crew)

B Squad left Europe soon after I did and has been in Africa over a week already. We’ve been covering Malawi in prayer for months, now, and are so excited to see the fruit that will come!

Many of you remember the three months I spent in Africa in 2015… or, rather, you DON’T remember them because the wifi was so weak we weren’t able to make calls or post blogs! The same is true of B. They’re living fully immersed in African culture and that means limited connection. As they are able to post stories of God’s faithfulness in Malawi I will be sure to send them to you as well.

In the meantime, here are two videos of our time in Romania co-created by Janele Tating and Averi Adams, two VERY talented storytellers on B Squad!

(Subscribe to Janele’s blog here and to Averi’s blog here. Trust me, you won’t regret it!)

Thank you to each of you who participated in street evangelism by sending your testimonies with us! Continue to pray for the men and women who were able to receive them, and email Hope Church if you would like to share more stories of God’s faithfulness as an encouragement to the men and women they are ministering to in Craiova.

In Romania, we were able to start each day with an hour and a half of intercession. Isaiah 32 is a passage we prayed over Craiova, and continue to pray over them as they establish a church in the city.

WAYS TO PRAY:

In January, I’ll be heading back out to meet B Squad in Zimbabwe and Botswana. Please pray that their debrief in Zimbabwe would be a time of peace and empowerment.

This month, the teams are living in more rural areas of Africa and are learning what it means to abandon physical comfort in new ways. Please pray that this would be a time of deep dependence on God.

As a whole, B Squad is about 88.5% funded and many are hoping to be fully funded by the end of the year. Please pray that they’d find the support they need financially.

I am still raising $11,000 for 2018 and am looking for 15 people to commit to praying 1 hour a week and $50 a month toward the work I am doing with B Squad. Please pray that the men and women who join me financially would also join me in praying for and encouraging B Squad while they’re out on the field this year.

It means the world to know you’re standing in the gap and interceding for B Squad and me.
How can I be praying for you?
How is the Gospel motivating you right now?

I’d love nothing more than to hear how the hand of God is moving in and through his people, and how I can join the fight with you by praying for his kingdom to come!

“Yes, and I will rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance, as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
Philippians 1:18b-20
