Reflecting on the month of March, the word “madness” rings true. It flew by– beginning in Atlanta, rolling over into Gainesville, and coming to a swift close in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Each month my roommates and I choose a book of the Bible to read together and the book of March was one of my very favorites: Luke.
Each time I read it I’m brought back in my memory to the rooftop overlooking the campus of the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. In January of 2016 I met Jesus in all his divinity and all his humanity on the pages of the book of Luke, sitting in that little coffee shop overlooking the campus. Now, each time I open to those familiar pages in the same Bible, he meets me there in deeper friendship than I’ve ever known before.
March was no exception.
After reading the book of Luke in Cambodia in 2016, it was a sweet dose of nostalgia to read it all over again in Cambodia in 2018.
I flew to meet B Squad in Southeast Asia on March 25th.
First I spent a week in Siem Reap, Cambodia, debriefing the squad at the end of their 6th month of ministry.
Then I spent a week in Bangkok, Thailand, laughing and praying and leading alongside Lindsey, Chelsea, Austin, and Rafael.
Finally I spent a week in Chiang Mai, Thailand, learning from B, V, F, and E squads, and Andrew Shearman at the Awakening (an AIM event).
It’s been a WILD ride and there are so many stories to tell!
We spoke with a Muslim, an Athiest, a Bhuddist Monk, a stripper, a drunk, and even a couple of native Thai Christians!
Keep an eye out for a few featured blogs this week from the men and women I’ve been working with on B Squad, as well as a few stories of my own!
